£90,000 has been allocated to the small grants programme which is being delivered by VCAS. Grants range from £250 - £1000 and organisations must be based and operate on the North side of the city, they also have to spend their grant within a 12 month period.
The overall funding theme for the small grants is: Connecting Communities, providing opportunities for individuals to engage and actively contribute in their community, ensuring people are proud of the place they live and are confident in making a difference.
- The key priority for the programme is making a difference. All applications will be assessed as to how they meet this priority.
- Funding must benefit residents of: Monkwearmouth, Town End Farm, Fulwell, Redby, Southwick, Downhill, Witherwack, Seaburn, Marley Potts, Carley Hill, Hylton Castle, Castle Town, Roker, and St Peters.
- Funded activity would involve: Social Isolation, Capacity Building, Health and Wellbeing, Children Young People and Families, Volunteering.
We fund any organisation that is small and charitable. You need to have in place a signed constitution, and be either a registered charity, not-for-profit VCSE organisation or a social enterprise or community interest company. All organisations must have been operational for 6 month to be eligible apply.
