NHS Sunderland Clinical Commissioning Group are looking to hold an annual Sunderland Health Festival event. The Sunderland health festival aims to share information with you, and to also find out what you think about healthcare services in Sunderland. The event will be drop in, so you can stay for as little or as long as you like.

We would like to know your thoughts about this event, including when you think it should be held, how you would like to use the event, and what you would like to find out about.

Northumbria Police are aware of a planned demonstration due to take place on Saturday 15 September 2018, starting at Mowbray Park in Sunderland city centre. 

They are also aware of a counter-demonstration to be held in Keel Square on the same day.

Northumbria Police have a duty to police protests and respect the right of people to hold such events - ensuring the safety of the public is also of utmost priority. 

NHS Sunderland Clinical Commissioning Group are currently working on redesigning the CCG website. We are looking for voluntary and community sector organisations who would be interested in taking  part In testing our new website for us.

This would be in the form of a short focus group where individuals will review and test the functionality, accessibility and design of our new site. We are interested in engaging with of a range of different groups in this focus group, to ensure we are meeting the needs of our users.

NHS maternity care providers are asking parents who’ve recently had a baby in Sunderland over the last year and people who are planning to have a baby at Sunderland Royal Hospital in the future to share their views on local maternity care.

The next meeting of HealthNet will take place on Thursday 13th September at 10.00 a.m at IMPACT North East - The Connect Building, 1 Moor Terrace, Hendon, Sunderland SR1 2JH. 

The presentation will be from Rachidy Bikaya of Healthy Steps, informing members of the project and how it is progressing. All voluntary and community sector health and social care organsaitions are welcome to come along. 


Spark 107 FM - Where Sunderland Lives

This week at VCAS Offices, we had the pleasure of going Live with Nathan Ely from Spark FM,  who was joined by a number of Sunderland's charitable organisations as part of Sparks Next Steps Series. Helping leavers to consider volunteering as an option and get the right advice going forward. 

What a fantastic day it turned out to be, VCAS guests for the day were; Centrepoint, Grace House NE, Sunderland Volunteer Life Brigade, Independent Age, Citizens Advice, and Achieve with Neraf.
